An hour before dinner I pulled a silk blouse out of my carry-on and it looked like I’d slept on it.
The steamer I’d packed had one setting. I held it off the fabric the way you’re supposed to, waved it back and forth, and the wrinkles barely moved, so I wore a jacket over it so nobody would see the front.
The problem is that silk and denim want opposite things, and a collar doesn’t really want steam at all, it wants pressing. One setting can’t cover that spread.
So I ordered the five most popular portable steamers and ran the same pile of laundry through each. Most split the same way my old one did, fine on denim and risky on silk, or the reverse, and the closest contender weighed as much as a hair dryer. Rowelle covered the spread.
What also surprised me was the plate. There’s a flat aluminum piece behind the steam head that heats up.
First time a collar wouldn’t lie flat I pressed it down the fold like a little iron, and it went crisp. I’d been hovering steam over collars for years and just living with them.
After that, it was easy. Lowest setting for the blouse, highest for my husband’s jeans, one button to switch. The little screen shows what you’re set to, so no guessing. And the whole thing weighs about as much as a full water bottle. I keep forgetting it’s even in the bag.
How Rowelle Stands Out From Other Portable Clothes Steamers
I packed it for a long weekend and it had to earn its space.
The Results:
Steam and a heated plate: Most handhelds only steam but this one presses too, so the collar I could never flatten with steam finally went flat.
A setting for the fabric in your hand: Gentle on silk, strong on denim, five modes plus dry heat, no swapping tools.
Fewer passes: 1200W put the heat where the crease was. Twice over a shirt front and done.
You can see the mode: One button, and the LCD shows the setting instead of leaving you guessing.
Forgettable in a bag: 570 g and about the length of a water bottle. It disappeared next to my toiletry kit.
Gets the awkward angles: The handle turns with your wrist motion, so you reach a cuff without twisting it.
Sized for touch-ups, not laundry: The 120 mL tank is enough for the shirt that creased in transit, which is why it stays this small. The tray holds the hot plate between passes.
By the end of the trip, it had handled everything from a silk blouse to a linen dress, and it still packed smaller than the other steamers I tested, most of which only steam.

What People Are Saying About Rowelle
More than 6,200 verified reviews, from people who travel light, folks who wear a suit or a work uniform every day, apartment dwellers with no room for a board, and parents doing quick touch-ups before the school run.
Here are a few I’ve come across:
small enough to pack without rearranging everything, it’s great. the rotating handle folds into a better position too, which is huge when space is tight
Kelly N.
The 5 steam modes is great because I can keep it gentler when the material requires for less heat, then use more steam when thicker fabric needs extra help.
Samantha V.
Steam works well across the main part of a shirt, then I use the heated plate around the cuffs. I like having both options in the same little steamer and since I wear suits all the time, I use it all the time!
Neil P.
The water tank is built into the steamer so everything moves with me while I work. there’s no separate base to carry around or leave sitting nearby
Thomas W.
Once it has cooled, I empty the remaining water and wipe the outside before storing it. The cleanup doesn’t turn a quick clothing touch-up into another chore.

What About the Price?
Rowelle starts at 90.99 € for one steamer with 60% OFF, and if you want more than one, you can bundle and save up to 75% OFF.
The two-pack is the best seller, and it’s what I’d get. At 89.90 € each with 65% OFF, one can live in the closet and the other can stay packed in the suitcase, so you’re not moving it back and forth between trips.
If you’re covering a couple of people or setting one aside as a gift, the three-pack brings the price to 79.90 € each with 70% OFF, while the four-pack takes it down to 69.90 € each with 75% OFF.
Is Rowelle Worth It?
If your ironing is one shirt at a time, not a whole basket, this is the one to get.
I used to think a bigger tank would be better until I understood why this one’s small. 120 mL is enough for the shirt that creased in your bag, and skipping the bulk is what keeps it light enough to forget you packed it.
The night I wore a jacket to cover that blouse, this would’ve fixed it before I left the room, and the jacket could’ve stayed on the hook.
